The Man in My Bed

Image
This is my own personal story. The end of 2017/beginning of 2018 was a very difficult time period for us here at the house. We were having some complicated personal problems; my anxiety was through the roof and the only way I could describe what I felt was that my home and my life was falling apart and all I had to fix it was duct tape. Eventually things started getting better but soon after I was hit with another problem: insomnia. Insomnia was nothing new to me, it happens occasionally, but this time it was happening to me every night. No rest, nothing. It had been a week and I was starting to feel like I was going to lose it. I tried teas, aromatherapy, getting off all electronics at night and nothing. One night I was laying in bed, my lights were out but my modem blue light lights up the room just enough for me to see everything, or at least the outline of things. For some reason I looked down, towards my window and I saw this massive black shadow forming in my curtains. I tu...

The Lost Soldier

This is a story submitted by a friend: “My grandmother used to live with my grandfather, my godfather (he was still a baby at the time) and my mom, who was 4 or 5 years old at the time. They all lived together in a little tiny house. My grandfather used to leave the house at night to go to the coffee shop, leaving my grandmother at home, all alone with the kids, and on those nights, she started noticing a male silhouette in her backyard. She was a brave woman, so she always went outside to try and see who it was that was trying to scare her but whenever she got there to investigate, no one was in sight and everything was quiet. All of this went on until my grandmother decided it was time to move out. Later on, we all discovered that that house, and the ones around it, were built on top of an old cemetery for fallen soldiers.”

Story Time: A Smoothie Disaster

Image
About two weeks ago I mentioned a book, Fern Green’s Smoothie Detox Bible and I said I was thinking of trying the 3-day detox plan, just to see what would happen. And I did. Kinda... I feel like I need to start by saying that crazy diets are a bunch of bullshit and never worthy. I went into this not seeing it as a diet (I was only trying it for a few days) but as an experience to write about afterwards. So, if you ever feel like you need to make a change in your life, when it comes to your eating habits, please always make sure to do it safely and with guidance from a professional . Now, back to the topic at hand. I read through the entire book and chose the recipes I wanted to try out for the 3 days, bought everything and then it started. I had my breakfast smoothie and tea and decided I was going to take some lessons from my course. Let me tell you, I had NO energy. Nothing. Partially is was my fault, because only after did I realize that there were better smoothie options fo...

Quarantine Thoughts - Day 27

I was so, so tired of looking at my desktop ! It was a mess! It was completely disorganized because I hadn’t touched it since I started writing my Master’s degree thesis (so, almost a year ago). I think I spent a good half-hour organizing everything, and now it’s much more satisfactory to look at. Check this out: Before After While tidying up everything, I noticed a screenshot that I took from an old tweet of mine and I couldn’t stop myself from giggling like mad! Storytime This was an interaction I had a few years ago, in 2014. I was 17, almost 18, and getting started on Twitter. On this particular date, it was night-time and I was probably in my room doing something like watching videos or playing games, as per usual 17-year-old me, and I saw the biggest, ugliest moth just flying around in my room... I have a HUGE insect and spider phobia , but the ones who fly and/or move really fast are the worst! I literally feel like dying when I see one. Anyway...
