Personality Types

Image
So, the other day I was watching a Cinnamon Toast Ken’s video , on Youtube , in which he and his friend took a personality test online. I was really intrigued because they were really finding the results to be spot on, and I decided I wanted to take the test myself, for the fun of it! 16 Personalities Test The test they took was from the 16Personalities  website . In this website you are supposed to take a relatively quick quiz, in which you have to be as true to yourself as possible when answering each question. There are no right or wrong answers. In the end, the website will determine which of the 16 personalities best defines you, based on your answers. The 16 personalities are divided into 4 types: The analysts , diplomats , sentinels and explorer personalities. The Defender After completing the quiz, I got the Defender  personality, from the sentinel category. I couldn’t believe what I was reading! It was like the site was describing me! The introduction says: ...

Immortalem Lullaby

Image
Hey guys! It’s Sunday and that means that today I bring you some content that I love. This time I wanted to recommend you guys an online book called Immortalem Lullaby , by my good friend Luciana Marujo. This vampire story has the perfect mixture of Paranormal and Romance and, so far, has won many awards such as 1 st Place in the Paranormal & Horror Category in the Luauer Edit 2020; and 1 st Place in the Villain Category in the Million Dreams Contest 2019. It is still currently being written by the author, however the first chapters are already available online, for reading. The author chose the Wattpad platform to publish and share her work and has gathered a big community of readers, eager for the next chapter to come out. The book recently reached 9 500 views and 693 followers, an incredible milestone! The synopsis goes as follows: “Eighteen years after her mother’s death, Lucille Howard was left in the care of her only living relative, her aunt Francesca, a woman of el...

Story Time: A Smoothie Disaster

Image
About two weeks ago I mentioned a book, Fern Green’s Smoothie Detox Bible and I said I was thinking of trying the 3-day detox plan, just to see what would happen. And I did. Kinda... I feel like I need to start by saying that crazy diets are a bunch of bullshit and never worthy. I went into this not seeing it as a diet (I was only trying it for a few days) but as an experience to write about afterwards. So, if you ever feel like you need to make a change in your life, when it comes to your eating habits, please always make sure to do it safely and with guidance from a professional . Now, back to the topic at hand. I read through the entire book and chose the recipes I wanted to try out for the 3 days, bought everything and then it started. I had my breakfast smoothie and tea and decided I was going to take some lessons from my course. Let me tell you, I had NO energy. Nothing. Partially is was my fault, because only after did I realize that there were better smoothie options fo...

Quarantine Thoughts - Day 7

Image
Writing last month’s Book Club post inspired me to take a look at all the books I gathered to read this year (and I didn’t even remember some of them!). These are all of them. They are very different from one another and that perfectly describes my literary taste: EVERYTHING . Bellow, is the book that I’m reading at the moment. I don’t want to get into much detail (I have another Book Club entry for this month) but basically it narrates the story of humankind, offering points of view that make us really think. If there’s anything I really appreciate in a book is that it makes me think and re-evaluate my opinions. I’m also really excited to read another book by this author called “Homo Deus”, which serves as a continuation for this book, in which the author gives us his opinion on the future of our species . If I had to choose, the next 3 books are the ones I am most excited to read. The first one is about the story and art of a man that has always fascinated ...

Book Club - September

Image
In September, I chose to read a book that was gifted to me by some friends in my birthday, back in July. It is Robert Bryndza’s “Cold Blood”. I’ve never heard about this author before but I decided to start reading before investigating. The book is categorized as a crime thriller and, in it, you are introduced to 2 stories. The first one is about Erika Foster, the detective we get to follow as she is confronted with the investigation of 2 brutal and shocking homicides, in London. The other story is about Nina Hargreaves, a young and innocent girl who falls in love with the wrong guy, a mysterious and dangerous man, Max Kirkham. In the cover of the book it reads “She fell in love with a killer, now she’s one too.”. So, you can imagine what happens, right? Young naïve girl, falls in love with a manipulative killer and turns into someone like him? Partly, yes, but this story is so much more than that! Due to the violent nature of our killer and the way Nina still follows him w...

The Singularity

Image
Nowadays, living without some sort of technology seems like a difficult, perhaps even impossible, task. Televisions, smartphones, computers are now intrinsic in our live, as they make them less complicated and more comfortable. Plus, we see new creations almost every day. That’s how fast science and technology are evolving. Will technology keep evolving forever or will it come a day where it all ceases to exist? Technological Singularity , or simply Singularity , is the hypothesis that the rate of technological progress will continue to accelerate exponentially to the point of creating artificial superintelligence (ASI) that will, qualitatively, surpass all human intelligence. For the pessimists, the coming of the Singularity might signal the end of the human era , as the new superintelligence would continue to upgrade itself and advance technologically at a huge rate. I have never given any thought to this matter until recently after reading Dan Brown’s “Origin” . In th...
