Relax, refresh and restart.

To everyone who's been coming arround lately, thank you. You've been giving a lot of meaning to my life in these troubled times and the only things I can do (for now) to give something back to you, is to keep on improving the content I put out. That's why, for the next days, I'll be away, to refresh and reboot this little noggin! I'll be back next week, ready to impress and give you more things to hopefully get your mind out of things for a while. I already have some ideas and I can't wait to try them out! I won't be far, I won't be long and I'll be okay. And I hope you guys are okay too and making sure you're being kind to yourselves and taking care of yourselves as well. If you're anything like me and you feel your brain getting tired, the eyes hurting or those migraines coming in, just take a break. Take as much time as you need. These are changing times and we need to adjust to them, yes, but we also need to respect out boundries and...

Quarantine Thoughts - Day 3

Image
Staying away from loved ones is probably the hardest part of this quarantine. You might be lucky if you live with family or friends, but some people are completely on their own. Of course, today people are just a click away, but nothing can replace that physical, personal contact. I live with my parents. Sometimes I think I would rather live alone, at the moment, because I’m scared of going out and bringing the virus home with me and infecting my parents. Specially my dad, since he is in the risk group because of chronic disease. However, I think that at the end of the day, having someone to talk to in person and just hang out keeps me sane and makes me feel safer for some reason. Loneliness is something that many people might be experiencing right now, and even though people can stay in contact, at night, when there’s nothing there to do but think, is hard not to think about your friends, your family, your significant other... I miss my boyfriend, a lot. We live separately...

My Weight Loss Journey: One Month

Image
Here we are, one month after the start of my journey and I have lot to tell you! Starting with my physical progress , I’ve lost 16.5 lbs in total, ~ 4 inches in my chest, waist and hips, and ~ 6 inches in my stomach. It’s amazing and I need to add that, so far, I haven’t done any exercise at all. But I will! I am nowhere near my goal weight but I have to say that I feel amazing ! I’ve always heard that it takes 21 days to make a habit out of something, but I’ve never had the will to keep up good, healthy habits for so long, until now. Because I can’t eat my feelings now, I had to learn how to deal with them, so I feel more emotionally stable .   This might be a bit tmi (too much information) but I think that it is very important: I used to have a lot of gas and horrible gas pains for so long that I got used to them, and I thought that I would always have to live with them. After completely cutting sugar off my diet it was all gone! No more pain, no more being unco...

... in with the new.

Image
I don’t know about you, but sometimes new things scare me. Change can be scary. Be it a new school, a new job, just new surroundings make me feel a little bit of panic inside. The weeks leading up to something new, always leave me completely in my head thinking the worst thoughts: “What if I can’t get used to it?”, “What if no one likes me?” or “What if I don’t do a great job?”. I tire myself with it, I give myself anxiety, and it’s always all for nothing. In a few weeks I’m going to start the internship for my thesis in another city and I’m in my head worrying about affording the trips, getting used to a new place, thinking if I’m going to like the people there and if they’re going to like me… Just being nervous for nothing. I don’t know why my brain has the need to always try and sabotage me, but I will never let it win. I know I am a very adaptable person, I know I’m going to figure someway to get the money and I know I’m going to get along with my new colleagues (and ...
