A Change in Format

Hey guys! Recently, I’ve been thinking about where I want to go with this blog and I came up with a cool idea that is both interesting and manageable, so I figured I would give you the layout.

I’m going to have 3 major posting days (Spooky Saturdays; Foodie Fridays and Whatever Wednesdays) plus a smaller posting day on Sunday (Shoutout Sundays).


Spooky Saturdays

One thing I really enjoy is reading and listening to real stories from real people, especially spooky or inexplicable ones. Whether they are paranormal or just strange encounters/ situations it has always been something that keeps me hooked for hours. So, I’ve decided to start collecting stories from my friends and family in order to share them here. Maybe, one day, I can share your stories too.

 

Foodie Fridays

If you’ve been here before, you know I love food and cooking. There was even a “Recipe” tab here before, and that is not going to change! I’m going to create a dedicated space to all the delicious recipes (old or new) that I try out, and that will also be a permanent, weekly thing.

 

Whatever Wednesdays

I think the name says it all! I wanted to reserve a day in the week to post about random, personal or just specific things that don’t necessarily fit in a category that I want to dedicate a whole day to. Here I will continue my sporadic book and makeup reviews, future Youtube videos will be featured here and any other topic that comes to mind.

 

Shoutout Sundays

On Sundays, I want to spend some time promoting fellow creators (bloggers, writers, youtubers and others) that I believe have something amazing to offer, because it is important to be able to uplift each other and share good work and positivity.

In fact, I want to start right now!

Exploreily is a blog that was created with the intent of helping readers find the content they’re looking for, while helping writers reach their audience and get their work recognized.


I find this an amazing initiative for smaller blogs, like mine, that want a safe place to promote their content and I definitely recommend that you check out their site, here. Maybe you’ll find what you are looking for. They also have an Instagram page, so be sure to check it out here for their latest content.

Everyday Makeup

I hardly have been wearing makeup lately, as I’m staying home as much as I can, but considering today was Mother’s Day, I wanted to look good for some pictures so, I got my Ultimate Nyx Palette, some eyeliner, mascara and nude lipstick and went to town! Well, actually, my makeup is pretty simple, and that’s how I like it! So, this is how I do it: I take shade 1. and put it all over the lid, then I blend it out as much as I can. Sometimes, when I use too much shadow and I’m having a hard time blending, I like to take the first shade in the palette, that white/translucent color, and use it to help blend out the edges. Then I take shade 2. (a shimmery pinky bronze) with my finger and I apply that to the center of the lid for that beautiful pop! Unfortunately, the shimmers in this palette don’t come out with that wet effect that I would like, but it’s the best that I have for now. Finally, I take a smaller brush and apply shade 3. Quarantine Thoughts - Day 34

Today is still rainy outside. Since I couldn’t go out there and show you more garden stuff, I decided it was a good opportunity to clean, declutter and show you what’s in my makeup bag! Truth be told, I don’t remember the last time I wore makeup, but I’ve been feeling inspired to use some, so let’s start! I only own 5 brands of makeup so I separated all my items by brand, to make it easier to tackle. So, I’ll start with the brand I own most products of: Avon . From top to bottom, I have foundation, eye products and lip products. The foundation is nothing special, pretty day-to-day, low coverage foundation. For my eyes I have a green gel-stick eyeliner (I don’t even know...); a skin toned cream multipurpose pencil that I use under eyeshadow (so that the pigments show up better); a black gel-stick eyeliner; some mascara (does nothing for me) and a loose pigment purple eyeshadow. Antisocial: An experiment without social media

  As technology evolved over the years, the ability to communicate and share our lives online became common, essential even. Nowadays, we carry some of the most important aspects of our lives in our pockets and most people would be horrified at the prospect of being a day (maybe even hours) without their phones. Some can admit social media is like an addiction to them, but most people I know (myself included) would disagree. I always thought I didn’t really need socials in my day-to-day, I only have them because I like taking pictures, checking up on my friends’ lives and that’s basically it. But lately I’ve been wondering what it would be like to not have social media at all. Would it make me more active? More depressed? That’s where the idea for an experiment came along.
